Open 2 finder windows.
In the first finder window browse to the external HDD > users > username folder
The the second finder window from the top menu select Go > Go to folder > and drag the folder from the first finder window into the Go to field.
Then add “/library” at the end of the folder path that appears
Use this to recover data from an external hard disk drive such as Mac Mail folder in the users library folder.
